  28. DESCRIPTION
  29.  
  30.      An editor for use with the Formula One Grand Prix or World Circuit
  31.      game (published by MicroProse Software).  It is very easy to use,
  32.      with a standard 2.0 look graphical user interface (even on KS 1.x!)
  33.      and on-line help should you need it.
  34.  
  35.      Allows you to alter most of the in-game setup, including computer
  36.      car performance, car/helmet/pitcrew colours, car fragility and many
  37.      other things (and I MEAN many!).  Sound samples can also be replaced,
  38.      cockpit graphics changed, and lap records and setups printed.
  39.  
  40.      Changes can be saved directly to a copy of the game which is running
  41.      in memory, or to the main file used by the game for a more permanent
  42.      change.

  44.      Also incorporated in the main program are a number of memory patches,
  45.      including Toni Wilen's GPPatch and Grant Reeve's PatchF1GP.
  46.  
  47.      F1GP-Ed breathes new life into an ageing, but excellent game.  1994,
  48.      1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999 sample datafiles supplied for those
  49.      who don't want to mess about with all the options.

  51.      The program itself is auto-enhancing, which means that it will run
  52.      on a basic A500 with KS 1.2, but will make use of KS 2.x or KS 3.x
  53.      specific routines on suitable machines to make itself even better.

  58.      Finnish, Norwegian, Czech, Greek and Polish.

  60. NEW FEATURES

  62.    o New datafile reproducing the real-life 1999 F1 season
  63.    o When viewing backdrops or cockpits, the image is now displayed in
  64.      a window on the same screen, where possible (using
  65.      picture.datatype)
  66.    o Improved "best mode" calculations when opening screens, which will
  67.      try to choose a mode with the same monitor type as the screen that
  68.      F1GP-Ed is using (e.g. will stop F1GP-Ed choosing PAL screens when
  69.      running on a graphics card!)
  70.    o Added workaround for the palette window when running on a hi/true
  71.      colour screen - when adjusting the colours, the on-screen colours
  72.      now update in realtime (as they normally do on <= 8-bit screens)
  73.    o Fixed a long standing bug which screwed the car setups up causing
  74.      the game to crash during a championship season when reaching the
  75.      Suzuka race and racing with less than 26 cars
  76.    o Made a workaround for the sliders in the palette window, as the
  77.      numbers didn't always show up with certain fonts
  78.    o Under certain circumstances (e.g. running under CyberGraphX)
  79.      F1GP-Ed could crash on exit, if not registered

  83.      Formula One Grand Prix or World Circuit game by Geoff Crammond,
  84.      published commercially originally by MicroProse Software.

  86.      Approximately 1.5Mb of free ram needed to load the game and the
  87.      editor to be able to use the memory patches.  But, the editor
  88.      itself and most of the features will work on machines with less
  89.      memory.
